A well-known University in the Lehigh Valley area is looking to bring on an Infrastructure Engineer to work on both the Systems and Network. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining this schools IT infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our systems are reliable, scalable, and secure. This position is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities will be, Infrastructure Design and Planning, Infrastructure Implementation, Security and Compliance, Automation and Scripting, Monitoring and Troubleshooting. You should have at least 4+ years managing Windows Servers, VMware, Office 365, Azure, Routing/Switching, and Firewalls.
Duties will include:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design and plan scalable and efficient infrastructure solutions to meet business needs.
  • Evaluate and recommend hardware and software components to optimize infrastructure performance.
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain servers, storage, networking equipment, and virtualization platforms.
  • Ensure high availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery measures are in place.
  • Implement and maintain security protocols, access controls, and encryption to safeguard infrastructure assets.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish monitoring systems to proactively identify and resolve infrastructure issues.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot system performance and connectivity problems.
  • Develop automation scripts and processes to streamline infrastructure management tasks.
  • Embrace infrastructure-as-code principles to enhance efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of infrastructure configurations, changes, and procedures.
  • Prepare reports on infrastructure performance, capacity, and recommendations for improvements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or similar role.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure technologies, including servers, storage, networking, and virtualization.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) is desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
