Head of Information Technology & Cybersecurity
The Head of IT & Cybersecurity will work closely with our data engineering team and business units to design and implement the solutions that will support the company’s broad range of operations, including project development, design, construction, operations, and analytics. They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the needs of multiple teams, systems and products. The right candidate will be a “roll up your sleeves” type of leader, excited by the prospect of building and maintaining solutions to support our entire range of energy storage operations and applications.
The company is located in the D.C. Area and will remain 100% remote.

What You Will Be Doing:
- Implementing and maintaining project and enterprise information technology systems.
- Communicating with internal and external stakeholders to identify and implement technology requirements.
- Manage and work with 3rd party services to acquire and maintain company hardware and software.
- Building and monitoring cloud assets, including servers and networking.
- Supporting development and integration of business applications with data architecture.
- Develop, manage, and track the IT department's annual budget.
- Provide direction, guidance, and training to office staff on various IT systems and cybersecurity policy.
- Identifying and implementing energy storage project networking, software, and cybersecurity requirements.
- Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems.
- Preserve assets, information security and control structures.
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
- Designing and documenting overall IT infrastructure and business application workflow.
- A degree in computer science, software engineering, information system or related field from an accredited university.
- Proven working experience as an IT manager or other relevant experience.
- Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems.
- Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation.
- Experience building and maintaining infrastructure on cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
- Experience or working knowledge of energy industry information technology and cybersecurity solutions.
- Experience with low-code tools, such as Appian.
- Experience with programing in SQL, Python, and other languages relevant to developing business application.
