The ideal candidate will have technical expertise in Operational Security, including the implementation of processes and technology, including applicable National Operations Security Program Office guidance and requirements. Policy and procedure must be developed to complement existing IT security policy and business-line operations. As our OPSEC specialist, you will be required to develop an approach and project plan to mature our client’s OPSEC program.
The company is located in Washington, DC and will be a hybrid model. The candidate must be local to the D.C. Metro Area.

What You Will Be Doing:
- Track operational security legislation, regulations, and policies from sources such as National Security Council (NSC), and National Counterintelligence and Security Center within ODNI
- Support implementation of an OPSEC program in alignment with NSPM-28 incorporating development of policies and procedures, governance, and other best practices.
- Research and analyze small and micro agency guidance related to development and maintenance of OPSEC program.
- Provide regular OPSEC risk assessment reports to management including recommendations for risk mitigation.
- Write in clear and concise language (readable format which can be understood by technical and non-technical personnel) for all contract deliverables including technical documents, procedural manuals, and risk assessment reports.
- Ensure the appropriate use of technical terminology in IT related documents.
- Write and/or edit technical documents, such as business proposals, reports, user manuals, briefings and presentations, functional descriptions, system specifications, guidelines, special reports, and other project deliverables to meet contract requirements.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Experience building and defining an IT/cyber program within a federal environment.
- BA/BS in any field; Can substitute no degree with 5 + years related work.
- 5 + years Federal Cyber Security Technical writing experience a plus; Other technical IT related writing experience is acceptable.
- 2+ years of Cyber OPSEC experience implementing and operating a Cyber OPSEC program.
- Solid understanding of Counterintelligence practices.
- Applicants selected will be subject to a public trust security investigation and will need to meet eligibility requirements.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Knowledge of supply chain regulations and policies and NIST special publications, including NIST 800-171 and 800-53
