Senior Contracts Administrator

The Senior Contracts Administrator oversees designated contracts and subcontracts, including tasks such as handling contract modifications, ensuring adherence to primary contract stipulations, preparing proposals, and negotiating contracts with current or potential clients. They assess existing and forthcoming contracts to clarify contractual rights and obligations, interpreting terms and conditions as needed. They also oversee company performance to ensure alignment with the original proposal, continually reviewing to ensure compliance with legal mandates, client specifications, and governmental regulations. In cases of conflict with contract terms, they suggest suitable actions for resolution and escalate issues to the Director of Contracts when required.

The candidate will need to come on site their Alexandria, VA office 5 days a week.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Responsible for initiating, assessing, bargaining, granting, and overseeing contracts in support of top-tier projects.
  • Conduct contract administration duties for projects spanning various values and sectors, both domestically and internationally.
  • Possess a deep understanding and application of sound contract management principles.
  • Capable of crafting contracts for projects of varying scales.
  • Suggest alternative language or clauses for client contracts as per the Company's business needs.
  • Ensure thorough review of contracts for legal, risk management, tax, and accounting considerations before submission for approval.
  • Participate as part of the negotiating team alongside business development and project management personnel to establish business terms and contract conditions.
  • Monitor and manage the business aspects of assigned contracts to ensure compliance with agreed terms and conditions.
  • Provide advice to the Director of Contracts on the scope, financial, and risk aspects of relevant contracts.
  • Generate and maintain documentation for negotiating changes to orders.
  • Price and draft change orders and amendments.
  • Ensure implementation of contractual agreements.
  • Prepare communications, such as letters, to clients seeking approvals and interpretations necessary for contract compliance.
  • Collaborate with Procurement personnel on project subcontract issues.
  • Work with Project Directors to track project expenditures against contract cost limitations.
  • Draft letters to clients informing them of contract cost limits and requirements for additional funding.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience in managing federal contracts, encompassing interpretation and negotiation of contract terms and conditions, drafting contract terms, composing contract correspondence, data assertions, and source justifications.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard business practices and prime contract negotiation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with exceptional interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in PC software packages commonly used in contract administration, such as Office365 and Salesforce.
    Eligibility for obtaining a US Security clearance is necessary.
