Founding Software Engineer - Biology

Job Description A Burlingame based startup specializing in protein analysis is looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join their team. They are Series A funded and are looking to bring several founding software engineers to help build out their protein analysis platform.
In this opportunity you will be architecting instrument control software for an entirely new scientific instrumentation platform, working closely with scientific and engineering peers, and will be responsible for driving execution of all aspects of software development and integration. Required Skills & Experience

• BS/BA Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or Physics with 8+ years’ experience, or MS/Ph.D. with 6+ years’ experience.
• Extensive demonstrable experience in developing sophisticated software for complex scientific instrumentation or automated machinery.
• A minimum of 2-5 years of development experience in a biotechnology (or similar) environment.
• Cloud development
• Data Visualization Experience

Desired Skills & Experience

• Extensive experience with one or more of each of the following:
  • C#/.Net application development, WPF, MVVM, WinForms
  • Image processing; ImageJ, Python/PIL
  • Database integration utilizing SOAP, REST, JSON
  • Web development in React or Vue.js
