Frontend UI/UX Developer

 

My client is looking to hire a Frontend UI/UX engineer to join their team. They are a fast-growing, award-winning, network-powered venture capital firm disrupting the VC industry, specializing in allowing individuals the opportunity to invest into previously inaccessible startups. They have raised over $1B to date from over 1,000 investors with over 900 portfolio companies. 

As a UI/UX engineer you will build the user interface of their products using React, TypeScript and JavaScript. You will actively own the implementation of the front-end with the development team. The ideal candidate will be a hybrid of a good designer who can also do front-end development. You will thrive in this role if you love working closely with business stakeholders, product managers and developers to evolve ideas from low-fidelity wireframes into fully realized designs. This role is three days a week in Boston, Massachusetts. 

Required Skills and Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in the role of a design-focused UX Engineer 

• Expert proficiency with industry-leading design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, and InVision 

• Strong understanding of modern web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (ES6+) 

• Advanced to expert working knowledge of React, Next.js, and related technologies such as Node.js, and Webpack or Parcel.js 

• A deep understanding of and passion for design principles, typography, and visual hierarchy 

• Proven ability to organize and document detailed design and functional requirements, and to communicate effectively with full stack engineers 

Desired Skills and Experience: 

• Familiarity with modern development tools and front-end stacks, including Git, Babel and modern CSS preprocessors 

• Comfortable in an agile development environment, with a focus on rapid iteration and experimentation.
