This company is looking for a Principal iOS Engineer. They are a home security firm that provides homeowners with security devices such as cameras, security sensors, smart doorbells, and more. Their consumer-facing app allows users to control all of these features in a cumulative home security system. This is a full time, hybrid role in a Seaport, Boston office at least one day per week.
You would be joining a 9-person team of software engineers dedicated to improving the usability and functionality of the application. In a principal role, you would help lead the team through the research, development, and design stages for the app, with development mostly consisting of working with Swift and occasionally Objective-c. The role also includes mentoring fellow iOS Engineers as you solve complex problems to help bring safety and security to over 1.5 million users.

Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of iOS development experience
- Expert level proficiency with Swift
- Understanding of common software architectural practices and principles (MVC, MVP, MVVM, Clean, SOLID)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer science or related field
- Objective-c/XCode proficiency
- RESTful services
- Leadership/mentorship experience
Tech Breakdown
- iOS development in Swift
- Bug Tracking and Source control (JIRA, Git)
- Prototyping and brainstorming redesigned features
- Build software experiments to assess and validate design approaches
- Participation in improving and developing organization-wide development practices
- Collaborating with product, design, and QA teams as well as stakeholders regularly
