As a Linux Systems Engineer you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust and efficient Linux-based infrastructure for this clients. You will work closely with the cross-functional teams to ensure the stability, security, and optimal performance of the clients' systems. Your expertise will contribute to shaping the technological landscape of this business and enhancing their overall operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their technical requirements and design Linux-based solutions that align with their business needs.
  • Implement, configure, and maintain Linux server environments, including installation, patching, upgrades, and security hardening.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve any issues to ensure smooth and uninterrupted operations.
  • Develop and maintain automated scripts and tools for system deployment, configuration management, and monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical problems related to Linux systems, network connectivity, and application performance.
  • Implement and manage virtualization technologies, containers, and cloud-based infrastructure as needed.
  • Work closely with the cybersecurity team to implement and maintain security best practices, including access controls, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines into the Linux environment.
  • Document technical procedures, guidelines, and best practices for internal and client use.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in Linux system engineering.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience as a Linux Systems Engineer or similar role, with a strong understanding of Linux-based operating systems and architectures.
  • Proficiency in shell scripting and automation tools (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible).
  • Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM) and containerization platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications such as RHCE, LFCE, or similar are a plus.
