This position is with a global fintech SaaS firm that builds software solutions for the investment management industry. They are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join their Chicago team on a full-time basis.
Their cloud-native multi-tier investment management platform provides solutions for risk & investment management, trading, and fund services by allowing their clients to seamlessly manage their portfolios. Their technology has been implemented by over 700 funds and helps clients ranging from family offices to hedge funds. In the last three years they have been awarded Best Institutional investment solution at the FinTech Breakthrough Awards. 
Ideally, they are looking for a Senior Network Engineer having experience working in a Linux environment, strong experience with network troubleshooting, routing, switching, Cisco Nexus, Arista and Palo Alto firewalls are highly desirable. As well as strong understanding of security concepts and technologies as it pertains to networking.
This position will be hybrid onsite in the Chicago office 2-3 times per week. Required Skills & Experience
  • Switching, Routing, Firewalls- Cisco Nexus, Arista and Palo Alto firewalls highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding in designing, maintaining, and expanding data center networks and infrastructures
  • Strong experience with layer 2 networking protocols (e.g., multicast, spanning tree)
  • Strong experience with layer 3 dynamic routing protocols: MPLS, BGP, ISIS and OSPF (between internal sites and between external clients / partners)
  • Strong experience with layer 3+ networking and security protocols (e.g., GRE tunnels, IPSec encryption)
  • Experience with extranet providers and services (e.g., TNS and ECX)
  • Experience working with Tier 1 / Tier 2 global ISPs and configuring BGP routing with them.
  • Very strong understanding of security concepts and technologies as they related to networking (e.g., WAF, DDOS, IDPS, PoLP, RBAC, SiD, and ZT)
  • Exposure to public cloud environments and integrating with on-prem systems
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Certified candidates highly preferred (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, JNCIE)
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Experience with configuration management, monitoring, and other orchestration methodologies and technologies for networking infrastructure hardware - Ansible and Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller experience desirable.
  • Solid NetEng-grade scripting abilities (Python, or similar).
