AWS Associate Principal

Job Description:
We are assisting one of the world's largest equity derivatives clearing organizations in recruiting full-time AWS Associate Principals for their Chicago office. Their mission is to uphold market integrity and stability by providing clearing and settlement services for options securities and future lending transactions.

The role involves becoming an expert in deploying the company's non-production AWS environments and supporting third-party applications. Additionally, you will identify root causes and automate solutions to support development efforts. This position operates under general supervision, reporting to a project manager while managing day-to-day activities.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Integrate Kafka with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Enhance Kafka performance and scalability by fine-tuning configurations and managing resources.
• Create and maintain automation scripts and tools for Kafka infrastructure management.
• Collaborate closely with development teams to improve Kafka integration, performance, and reliability.
• Ensure Kafka infrastructure aligns with security requirements in collaboration with security teams.
• Participate in rotations for Kafka infrastructure support.
• Develop automation scripts using tools like Jenkins, Ansible, and Terraform.
• Fulfill additional assigned duties as required.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Possess a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• Have 7-10 years of relevant work experience including:
  • a minimum of 7 years of experience in a distributed multi-form environment.
  • At least 3 years of experience working with Kafka.
  • A minimum of 3 years supporting enterprise monitoring technologies

Key Responsibilities:

• Hands-on tasks constitute 70% of the role.
• Collaboration with colleagues accounts for 30% of the responsibilities.
