Job Description
A leading research institution in Chicago is looking for a Linux System Administrator to join their team. This role will require server support, system administration, as well as some IT support experience. You will be responsible for aiding researchers run their code while performing high-level support.
As the Linux Systems Administrator you will will assist the technical team with all aspects of systems management. In addition, you will be expected work on distributed and high-performance computing (HPC) systems, as well work independently to install, configure, and maintain operating systems, use best practices and systems knowledge to monitor and create alert systems, install utility software (including firewalls), as well as guide maintenance for production Windows and Linux servers.
This is a full-time hybrid position 3 days per week in Hyde Park. Required Skills & Experience

- 3+ years of server and system administration experience
- 3+ years of experience with Unix and Linux
- Professional experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.)
- BS in Computer Science or related fields
- IT Support experience
- 30% IT Support
