Senior Data Engineer

Job Description Are you a data engineering professional with a passion for turning data into actionable insights? This upscale fitness company is committed to inspiring people to transform their lives and is seeking a remote Senior Data Engineer to join their team at their Chicago headquarters. In this role, you will lead the company’s long-term data strategy by designing and implementing an optimized data pipeline architecture using the Microsoft Azure platform. You will collaborate with other members of the engineering team to ensure data delivery is consistent throughout applications and reports. Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience with Azure Data Lake Gen2 and Azure Databricks
• 5+ years of experience designing and implementing distributed data architecture for BI and OLTP systems
• Experience with data integration through APIs, web services, ETL/ELT or REST services
• Python, Scala, etc. experience
• Advanced professional experience of SQL and relational databases

Desired Skills & Experience

• BS in Engineering, Information Technology
• Knowledge of BI tools and experience in report writing
• Fundamental knowledge of agile development methodologies
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

What You Will Be Doing Tech Breakdown

• 40% Azure Data Lake and Azure Databricks
• 20% Data architecture for BI/OLTP systems
• 10% ETL/ELT tools
• 10% Python and Scala
• 10% SQL and relational databases
• 5% BI tools and report writing
• 5% Agile development methodologies
