Staff Full Stack Engineer / Chicago / JavaScript

This industry leader is supplies distribution is seeking a Staff JavaScript Engineer to own one of their core applications. This position is hybrid in Chicago, IL with one day/week required in-office.

This enterprise-level company in the MRO distribution space is undergoing a large-scale digital transformation and seeking a Staff Full Stack Engineer to help streamline inventory management for customers. The candidate will need to be well-versed in Node, React, TypeScript, and Next with experience migrating legacy code into JavaScript. In the process, you’ll help modernize the stack and mentor junior engineers to establish best practices and improve their test-driven development skills. There are few managerial duties outside of mentorship, so you’ll remain hands-on for the majority of your time. Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of experience in Software Engineering
• Expertise with full stack JavaScript development
• Experience leading migrations
• Significant experience and understanding of test-driven development
• B.A. or B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related

Desired Skills & Experience

• Exposure to mentoring junior engineers
• 3+ years of experience using Next.js
• Experience working in an XP environment
• Experience in a Staff or Principal level role
