This enterprise-level lending company is seeking a Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer to architect and create new features for their consumer facing web application. This is a 6-month contract-to-hire opening with limited in-office requirements in Chicago, IL or Evansville, IN.

Individuals with subprime credit scores struggle to qualify for loans with the average financial institution. This industry leader has set out to change that allowing individuals to qualify for auto or personal loans as well as providing the resources and tools to educate and improve customers’ financial health. As their Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing and developing new features from the ideation stage to delivery. Using primarily Ruby on Rails and React.js, you’ll help the team build, test, and scale complex solutions on the consumer facing website. Ideally, you’ll have a deep understanding of, or experience working in, the financial services space.
Contract Duration: 6 Months Required Skills & Experience
  • 6 years with Ruby on Rails
  • 5 years with JavaScript
  • 4 years with API development
  • B.A. or B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Experience working with an enterprise company
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Experience in a senior level role
  • Experience in the financial services industry
  • Strong voice and opinions regarding the proper way to build software
  • Willingness to work in-office 1-2 days/wk
