Senior Software Engineer - Python/JavaScript/HTML/CSS/Data Science

Job Description

Our client is a company on a purpose-driven mission to save lives and property, leading the next wave in smart home technology and fire prevention. This company's innovative intelligent sensor and concierge service monitors a home’s electrical network to detect electrical hazards that often lead to the most devastating and catastrophic fires.

As part of the team, you will be responsible for advancing technology to detect early warning signs of electrical fires in homes. The team’s primary focus is on developing algorithms, automation, and internal web-based tools to detect electrical fire hazards and enable the fire safety team to mitigate them efficiently. Primary technology includes Python, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and frameworks like Flask and Jinga. 

The role is based out the DC region but is fully remote.

Required Skills & Experience

• Python 
• Front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, or CSS
•  Front-end frameworks such as Flask or Jinga.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar
• 5+ years of engineering experience in a professional experience

Desired Skills & Experience

• Master's Degree in Computer Science or similar
• Interest in Data Science
• Experience mentoring junior engineers
