Principal Linux System Engineer / IP Network Engineer

We are partnered with a fiber broadband startup company in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. They are seeking a Principal Level Linux System/IP Network Engineer to join their team.

Ideally they are looking for someone who can be the right hand person to the CTO. Someone who has experience in being a leader of a team and can be hands on with all of their technology. They are a Linux – Ubuntu shop with VMWare esxi for virtualization. On the Networking side IP routing and switching, working knowledge of optical transmission systems, XGS-PON, Wi-Fi, and/or IP routing and switching, BGP, DWDM, and SonicWall. Candidates with experience in telecommunications, service provider, or IP experience and companies are a plus.

This will be a full-time direct hire opportunity, onsite in their Dallas, TX office. Required Skills & Experience

• 8-10 years of experience, with lead or leadership experience in your position
• Linux- Ubuntu
• Windows
• VMWare – ESXi and VSphere
• SQL server
• Desktop support experience
• IP Networking – Routing, Switching, Cabling experience
• Working knowledge of optical transmission systems, XGS-PON, Wi-Fi, and/or IP routing and switching
• BGP, DWDM, and SonicWall
• Practical experience using these technologies in a service provider environment
• Hands-on deployment and troubleshooting skills
