Back-up and Storage Engineer / Irving, TX

Our client, an Independent School District, is looking to hire a Back-Up and Storage Engineer to join their team in Irving, TX.

**This opening is a 6-month long contract-to-hire position**

This Back-Up and Storage Engineer will be part of a high-performance infrastructure services team responsible for the effective day-to-day operation of the Backup and Storage Infrastructure within segmented OT environments.

What You Will Be Doing

• Configure and monitor daily backup jobs, plus doing any backup restore operations as needed
• Monitoring backups and recovering failed backups
• Maintain backup policies and standards and topology and process documentation
• Maintain all equipment for backup environment to include servers, disk, tape, and other offline storage devices

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in MIS / CIS or equivalent job experience
• A minimum of 3-5 yrs+ years of service (depending on job level), providing technical and organizational support for in-scope technologies
• Experience with Dell EMC / Isilon & Unity arrays
• Experience managing Enterprise Storage & Backups in a VMware environment using SAN
• Experience with Dell EMC Avamar
• Experience with configuring client-based Windows
• Manage backup schedules and perform regular backups to ensure data recoverability
• Experience with troubleshooting backup failures
• Experience in disaster recovery
