Senior QA Manual/Automation Tester

Our client is seeking a Senior QA Manual/Automation Tester for a 12+ month contract in Irving, TX. Will be working on a (Onsite/Remote/Hybrid) schedule. Will be responsible for testing the systems that improve customer experience, enable innovative user experiences, and increase store revenue, from testing an experimental machine learning prototype to a system with a production-ready backend, testers take many hats to see projects to completion.

Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance testing.
  • Experience in various types of manual testing such as functional, regression, smoke, integration, and exploratory testing.
  • Knowledge in testing frameworks like WebDriver IO and Cypress.
  • Understanding of JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Familiarity with React Native.
  • Experience with mobile test automation.
  • Comfortable using Git for version control.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail, analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to create detailed and functional test cases using Zephyr Scale or similar tools.
  • Ability to isolate and document defects as well as participate in or lead root cause analysis.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment within a team and independently on multiple efforts and deliverables.
  • Comfortable testing on web, Android, iOS, and headless applications.

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Certifications like ISTQB.
  • Test automation experience with Appium.
  • Understanding of how CI/CD works and experience with Jenkins and similar tools.
  • Basic knowledge and being able to navigate cloud-based systems like AWS/Azure.
  • Understanding of web technologies like HTML, CSS, and RESTful APIs.
  • Understanding of SQL & NoSQL DBs and ability to run queries to verify results.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Perform manual testing, including functional, regression, smoke, integration, and exploratory testing.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust automated test suites using WebDriver IO or Cypress.
  • Leverage TypeScript to write efficient, reliable, and scalable test automation scripts.
  • Implement test design patterns such as Page Object Model (POM) to enhance test maintainability.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration and delivery practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Analyze complex software systems to identify testing requirements and potential quality issues.
  • Design, write, and execute detailed test cases across all functional areas of the application.
  • Identify, log, and track defects in JIRA.
  • Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that the product meets quality standards.
  • Keep all test documentation up to date, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in the testing process by identifying opportunities for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint review, and retrospective meetings.
