My client is a leader in the logistics space, they are seeking an experienced network engineer to join their team based in Long Beach, California. This role fulfills hands-on management, support, and evolution of both conventional and fully automated, robotic maritime cargo terminal network environments. Excellent opportunity for skills growth.
Requirements:
  • Recommended minimum 5 years of experience
  • Advanced understanding of LAN, WAN, and internet networking concepts at all layers of the OSI model
  • Familiarity with a wide array of different manufacturer’s network hardware including switches, routers, I/O, and PLC products.
  • Knowledge of advanced routing, switching, topology, and redundancy principles
  • Familiarity with encryption concepts and protocols
  • Implementing network security according to direction/policies provided by Information Security
  • Advanced understanding of wireless technologies, including bridging and centralized authentication
  • Experience conducting end-to-end system level design, and building of architecturally sound solutions including overseeing all phases, from inception to production ready applications
  • Capable of simulating or building lab environments for testing and problem analysis. Evaluate, design, document, install, implement, test, and perform problem isolation and resolution.
Technical Skills:
  • Experience with Industrial products: Siemens, MOXA, Antaira
  • Experience with enterprise networking a plus; Cisco and Aruba, CCNP or ACSP preferred
  • Experience with HPE Aruba products including ClearPass, Mobility Controllers, and Airwave preferred
  • Knowledge of different topologies and network medias including single mode/multimode fiber, copper, twinax, SFPs
  • Understanding of link aggregation protocols, i.e Etherchannel, LACP, LAG
  • Advanced understanding of network protocols such as TCP, UDP, DNS, Telnet, SSH, FTP, SFTP, SNMP, SMTP, SNTP, DHCP, Profinet, Profibus, S7 Comm etc.
  • Experience with scripting a plus
