Cloud Security Engineer

A popular community-building message board site needs an Cloud Security Engineer for this fully remote role. This hybrid role would be expected to manage and implement cloud security frameworks as well as assist with network issues. A passionate and experienced individual is needed to support their teams in securing their platform and user information. While AWS is preferred, other popular cloud platforms will be considered. This company has highly trafficked sites, as well as being present on mobile devices, those with experience with some device management are preferred. This role is mainly regarding the hardening of systems and managing potential vulnerabilities that may arise.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience in a Linux environment
• Experience deploying and supporting scalable systems based in one of the following Cloud platforms: Amazon AWS, Google GCP, Microsoft Azure. Amazon AWS highly preferred.
• Experience managing remote workforce computing devices based on established Cybersecurity and Data Protection best practices
• System administration experience with Google Workspace in combination with Azure Active Directory (AAD) as part of a Mobile Device Management (MDM) platform
• Experience extending and supporting Cloud based monitoring tools such as AWS Cloud Watch, Datadog, LogicMonitor, Nagios, Splunk
• Ability to support and deploy the following AWS platforms: EC2, S3, Redshift, RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora (Big plus: Elasticsearch or AWS OpenSearch, Cassandra, EMR).

Desired Skills & Experience

• Advanced knowledge and experience with IAM, Security Group, Roles, Policies, VPC, Subnets, Routing Tables, Network ACL (NACL) EC2 instances, Security for EC2 and Data Platforms.
• Advanced knowledge of AWS security fundamentals and best practices as well as security protocols, standards, cryptography, authentication, and authorization.
• Proficiency in one or more of the following AWS System Administration, Security and Network Services: IAM, Security Groups, Routing Tables, Route 53, EC2, ACM, KMS, VPC, NACL, AWS Web Application Firewall.
• Preferred Certifications: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Certified Security Specialist, MS Azure Administrator, Red Hat System Administration, Cisco CyberOps, CCNP, CCIE CCNA, CISSP etc.
• Bachelor's degree in technology, engineering, or a related field.
