Staff Software Engineer

My client is in need of a Staff Software Engineer to join their growing team. They are a leading venture capital firm dedicated to supporting and investing in early-stage companies with a focus on alumni networks. With a nationwide presence and a diverse portfolio, they provide individual accredited investors with the opportunity to invest in promising startups across various industries.

In this role, you will work closely with the CTO to architect and build the first MVP for a cutting-edge software project. As an integral part of the team, you will contribute your expertise to help shape the future of their technology platform. The primary tech stack for this role is React and Node, in an AWS setting. The ideal candidate is able to commute to Manchester, New Hampshire twice per week; has great communication skills, and is a team player!

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Proven experience as a Software Engineer, preferably in a startup or fast-paced environment.
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java, C++, etc.).
• Solid understanding of software architecture principles and design patterns.
• Experience with web application development and related technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks, RESTful APIs).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
