Senior Engineer

Job Description

An NYC-based company that is AI-driven insights for discount and loyalty programs from small to medium-sized brick-and-mortar companies. This is a Hybrid role. 

As a Senior Engineer/ Technical lead, you will be working on their core platform, solving complex network issues, and designing systems. Python-focused role. You will help develop the technical roadmap and influence new features. You’ll be splitting your time between mentoring engineers and doing hands-on work.

Required Skills & Experience

• Computer Science degree or relatable
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience and 0-2 years experience as a team lead
• Proficient hands-on experience in Python including unit testing experience, writing effective and scalable code
• Familiarity with Java is a plus 
• Strong infrastructure experience is a plus 
• Built restful API 
• Passion for Software Development
• Ability to communicate Technically
• Ability to communicate with Executives

What You Will Be Doing

• Serve as a team lead for both Python and Java stack 
• Design and implement new Python systems, going from concept, design, and execution to production deployment
• Partner with the operations team to set up to understand service issues and help set the development roadmap to fix
• Mentor Junior Engineers
