Job Title: Senior Android Engineer (Hybrid NYC)


*This is a long term, ongoing contract. It's likely to convert to full time after 6-9 months, but not 100% guaranteed.*

*This position calls for working in office 2 days a week here in NYC. So you must be located in NYC, or ready to relocate here upon accepting an offer. This is not negotiable*

As a Senior Android Engineer, you’ll work on a large mobile development team focusing on new feature development for their flagship consumer facing application. Your primary responsibility will be to build and maintain high-quality software while providing a seamless user experience. You should be comfortable diving deep and rapidly iterating on ideas with your team, despite some ambiguity. You'll need to be familiar with modern software development methodologies popular in Android.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features for mobile applications
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
  • Develop and maintain automated tests to ensure the quality of the codebase
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks, bugs, and other issues in the codebase
  • Design and implement new user-facing features
  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
  • Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and ensure alignment with best practices

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of proven experience as a Senior Android Engineer or similar role
  • Experience building Android applications and writing code in Kotlin and Java
  • Familiarity with asynchronous coding patterns and performance analysis and optimization
  • Experience working in a globally distributed team and integrating with backend services
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
