One of the nation's largest apparel and fashion retailers is searching for a Technical Designer to join their team in Tribeca, New York. This position will support the development of over 60 Women's Woven Bottoms/Shorts styles per season across 3 major brands. You will be responsible for utilizing CAD programs to design patterns, tech packs, and garments as well as performing bulk fit tracking and hosting fittings to finalize designs.

This is a unique opportunity to work alongside expert designers that are shaping the industry on an initial, 3 month, W2 contract with the potential to extend or convert after the contract duration.

Responsibilities:
  • Support fit, fabric, finish, and trim developments
  • Utilize CAD and Pattern Making software to create sketches and render fabrics, prints, and designs
  • Update and finalize Centric Measurement Charts, Sample Requests and Technical Pattern Diagrams
  • Prepare garments for live fittings on models and host fit meetings
  • Develop balanced blocks and MC templates

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Design
  • Past experience working with Women's Woven Bottoms/Shorts highly desired
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a garment design environment
  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience with Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Experience creating detailed garment sketches and tech packs with CAD software
  • Experience with PLM software
