Engineering Manager - iOS SDK

A streaming service that has ranked consistently as one of the top 5 streaming platforms in the nation is looking for their next iOS Engineering Manager. The streaming service is part of one of the largest media conglomerates today; with various news and entertainment television networks, a world-renowned motion picture company, popular theme parks, and they're determined to forge the next frontier of streaming through creativity, teamwork, and talent. 

As an iOS Engineering Manager, you would be leading the charge on their Core Video iOS team. The team builds a video playback SDK which abstracts away all the complexities of DRM protected playback and download, analytics, and dynamic ad insertion so that their clients can focus on creating great user experiences. To achieve this wide array of functionality, while maintaining an easy-to-use interface, they value good coding practices, solid design patterns, and follow principles for sustainable technology solutions in an agile environment.

They're looking for someone proficient in backend iOS work (SDKs and APIs), video streaming, and problem solving. 

This position is contract-to-hire, with a conversion after 60-90 days.

Responsibilities:

• Produce a reliable, performant, configurable, state of the art SDK for iOS and tvOS
• Write clean, concise, readable code that follows common design patterns while adhering to best engineering practices
• Help developers optimize their code, work closely with team of developers
• Speak to specific issues and technicalities
• Strive to constantly improve quality of engineering through code reviews, pair programming, and other collaborative practices
• Ensure quality and confidence in software by writing effective automated unit tests

Required Skills & Experience:

• At least 6+ years of professional software development experience
• Significant experience with iOS and/or tvOS SDKs
• Significant experience with SDK development
• Significant experience with API design
• Significant experience with Kotlin Multiplatform
• Significant experience with Swift, UIKit
• Experience writing multithreaded, asynchronous code
• Experience building an iOS framework that handles all aspects of video playback
• Strong working experience with cross organizations and several teams across the company
• Passion for leading others
