Senior Network Engineer

We are helping a comprehensive technology solutions company located in the Chicagoland area hire full time Senior Network Engineers. This company offers a complete range of technology sales, services, and consulting. Their philosophy revolves around treating each customer and their unique environment as distinct entities, aiming to deliver optimal solutions tailored to their specific requirements. The Senior Network/Server Engineer is the go-to expert for all network and server matters. In this role, you'll be pivotal in designing and implementing networks (wired, wireless) and Windows servers. As the top-tier support for the team, you'll troubleshoot issues across various domains, including Spanning Tree, Network Performance, VPN, Wi-Fi, Routing, Firewall Configurations, VLANs, Virtual Networks, Active Directory, Exchange/O365, VMWare, and Network Security. Required Skills & Experience

• Ability to support multiple networks simultaneously
• Expert-level knowledge of networking hardware protocols and standards, including Spanning Tree, OSPF, BGP (Border Gateway Protocol), EIGRP, VLANs, Software Defined Networking, Virtual Networking (VXLAN), POE, and MPLS.
• Previous exposure to network automation, monitoring, and configuration management tools.
• Advanced knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory, including Azure/O365.
• Aptitude for adapting to new technologies quickly and a willingness to work with them.
• Effective communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
• Possession of a valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.

Desired Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of Wired and Wireless Networking experience
• Previous experience with a Managed Service Provider is beneficial.
• Familiarity with Hyper-Converged Networking (Azure or AWS) is a plus.
• College Degree not required
