Junior AppSec Engineer

Job Description A well-known HR software company is currently looking for AppSec (Application Security) Engineer to join their team. This is well known company that partners with many other firms – helping with pay roll information, benefits, and new employee on-boarding (among other things). You will be helping build out their proactive security procedures.

They are looking for a Entry/Junior level engineer who has a general interest in Security protocols. You will be joining an established team who will help develop your skills and provide you with the support for growth. Its not uncommon to be promoted withing a year and half, and be at a Senior level within 3-4 years. This is a highly collaborative position as you will be working alongside App Dev, QA, and DevOps teams.

The ideal candidate is someone who has strong coding fundamentals. Has a general interest in security, specifically staying up to date with OWASP guidelines. If you have any experience with security testing (DAST/RASP/SAST/etc.) that is a plus along with any experience with Burp Suite. If you have coded with C#, JavaScript/React, or PHP, that is a plus as that is what their tech stack consists of.

This is a full-time role. Onsite in OKC Monday through Friday. Salary will be around $65-75K plus a bonus. Required Skills & Experience

• 0-2+ years of IT experience.
• Strong understanding OOP languages and coding fundamentals
• Strong communication skills.
• General interest in IT security.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Bachelors or Masters in a Computer related field is a plus.
• Any exposure to Application Security testing (DAST/RAST/SAST, etc.)
• Certifications are a nice to have.
  • Security+ ; Hackerbox ; etc.

The Offer

• Full-time, salary will range from $65-75K depending on experience
• Additional 5-10% bonus on top.
