Senior Configuration Management Analyst
Location: Orlando, FL
Are you a meticulous and detail-oriented professional with expertise in establishing and supporting configuration management processes? We are currently seeking a Senior Configuration Management Analyst to join our team in Orlando, FL. In this role, you will be an integral part of a high-priority project focused on Department of Defense simulation and training capabilities. Collaborating closely with both internal and external program stakeholders, you will be responsible for managing program deliverables and facilitating the implementation of DevOps deliveries and processes.
Job Summary: As a Senior Configuration Management Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, implementing, and refining configuration management processes. Your responsibilities will encompass reviewing and suggesting enhancements to existing processes, creating and maintaining the program's Configuration Management Plan, and overseeing the configuration identification of software and documentation. This will involve assigning unique ID numbers, ensuring version control, and maintaining a physical CM Library with controlled access and data reproduction capabilities. You will be instrumental in regulating the change process to incorporate approved and validated changes into program products, as well as tracking CDRL (Contract Data Requirements List) due dates to ensure timely delivery and configuration control of all versions.
Essential Job Functions:
- Define and implement effective configuration management processes, including checkout/check-in, build, release, etc.
- Create and uphold the program's Configuration Management Plan.
- Assign unique ID numbers for software and documentation, ensuring version control.
- Manage software and documentation version control using tools like GitLab or similar repositories.
- Maintain and manage a physical CM Library with controlled access and data reproduction capabilities.
- Regulate the change process to ensure that only approved and validated changes are incorporated into program products.
- Track CDRL due dates to ensure on-time delivery and configuration control of all versions.
- Organize and facilitate recurring Configuration Control Board meetings, preparing agendas and recording meeting minutes.
- Collaborate with customers and subcontractors to merge external documentation input into common program-controlled documents.
- Perform configuration status accounting and generate ad hoc reports as necessary.
- Update and track Discrepancy Reports to ensure accurate records.
- Participate in joint stakeholder IPTs (Integrated Product Teams) and team meetings.
- Support and participate in audits to verify compliance with baseline requirements.
- Identify, package, duplicate, and deliver release products to multiple fielded sites and government entities.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in defining and implementing manageable CM processes, including checkout/check-in, build, release, etc.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Knowledgeable about Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Proficient in using CM tools such as JIRA, GitLab, and other CI/CD tools.
- Experience with media duplicating tools and software.
- Ability to assess the current environment, identify needs, and propose recommended CM solutions.
- Proactive approach to taking initiative, communicating with team members, and resolving potential issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline from an accredited university or college.
- Alternatively, experience related to the functions described can be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of three years of experience in establishing and maintaining consistent product performance and tracking configuration of all training systems during development and fielding.
