Position: Systems Engineer - Virtualization and Networking

Location: Orlando, Florida 

About Us: We are seeking a talented and motivated Systems Engineer to join our team. Our company, a recognized leader in cutting-edge technology solutions, is working on a next-generation training platform for a future Department of Defense (DoD) training environment. As a Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in configuring, implementing, and maintaining a complex multi-network and multi-system virtualized architecture. This is an on-site position that offers exposure to a diverse range of technologies that connect to this architecture.

Job Summary: As a Systems Engineer specializing in Virtualization and Networking, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, configuring, and managing virtualized resources within a dynamic environment. You will collaborate closely with team members, vendors, developers, and subcontractors to ensure the success of this critical project. Troubleshooting and root cause analysis will be key components of your role, along with maintaining the availability of systems in the event of failures. Your flexibility, self-starting attitude, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment will contribute to the success of our project.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement VMware technology solutions for virtualization and storage
  • Configure and maintain VMware ESXi on various servers
  • Create, test, and deploy VMware vSphere environments
  • Provide technical support to end users, operations, and management
  • Perform system maintenance while ensuring user availability
  • Investigate and analyze technologies connecting to the virtual environment
  • Conduct root cause analysis for reported issues
  • Contribute to design decisions
  • Implement VMware Networking, datastores, and SANs
  • Apply Cybersecurity policies and STIGs in alignment with ATO and RMF
  • Configure Windows Server 2019 Domain Controllers
  • Configure Cisco Network switches

Preferred Skillset:

  • Cisco Firepower configurations
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, network file systems, web and mail servers
  • Experience with monitoring software (e.g., SolarWinds)
  • Windows multi-forest architecture and domain trust implementation
  • Proficiency in writing PowerShell scripts for automation
  • Technical writing skills for procedure creation and automation
  • Creation of diagrams and documentation for configuration changes

Required Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (6 years’ experience in lieu of degree)
  • IAT Level II or greater certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP)
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
  • MS Azure Cloud Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent
  • Microsoft Server 2019 Certifications

Other Requirements: This position requires U.S. Citizenship status and the ability to obtain a SECRET to TOP SECRET security clearance in compliance with government contract requirements.
