Functional Safety Engineer

Our client is a global leader in autonomous navigation based out of Ottawa and they deliver customized unmanned ground vehicle solutions across industries such as; mining, forestry, security and logistics.

They are looking for a Functional Safety Engineer to help guide the development of safety critical systems in its autonomy suite. You will be responsible for maintaining existing and define new functional safety requirements to ensure compliance with industry safety standards. Candidates must have a Canadian Citizenship or a PR (of 5yrs) in order to be security cleared for this position. This position is onsite in their Ottawa office 2-4x per week.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor in Engineering 
• 3yrs+ of Functional Safety experience 
• ISO26262, ISO13849, and IEEE61508
• HARA
• FMEA

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience with the ASPICE software development process 
• Project management experience
• Start-up experience

• 80% ISO Standards, Hardware and Software testing 
• 20% team collaboration
