Azure Data Engineer / DBA

We’re looking for a Data Engineer/Azure DBA to join a leading financial services company dedicated to providing solutions to their clients. In this role you’ll specialize in Azure SQL DB/Azure Managed Instance, possess advanced proficiency with SQL Server 201x, and have a strong understanding of Data Lake/Data Lakehouse Environments. The ideal candidate will have practical experience with Azure Data Factory or other ETL toolsets, exposure to Kafka/Azure Event Hub/Other Event Sourcing toolsets, and familiarity with MDM. Exceptional communication and collaboration skills are essential for this role.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server 201x, Azure SQL DB, Azure Managed Instance, and general Azure environment management.
• Expertise in relational and dimensional database modeling, data development, and administration.
• Extensive experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, including tools such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Function Apps, Logic Apps, etc.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Exposure to or experience with data mesh and event streaming.
• Practical experience with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
• Practical experience with the Azure data development stack.
• Practical experience with Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, Git.
• Practical experience with data privacy practices and regulations, particularly in highly regulated industries.
