Our client is a focused, independent company, who is building on their foundation of excellence by creating systems in new ways. They design, build, manage and modernize the mission-critical technology systems that the world depends on every day. The new Linux/Unix Administrator will be supporting Production systems that run the manufacturing facilities so its mission critical.

Responsibilities
  • Hands on and troubleshoot a Unix/Linux environment
  • Support at the OS level but not on the applications sitting on the servers.
  • Specializes in installing, maintaining and upgrading internal computer hardware and software systems used for designing and developing products
  • Proposes and implements systems enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system
  • Be a leader in collaboration efforts across organizations (architecture, development, operational teams, business units, etc.) in solving critical business and technology issues while improving customer experience
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience with Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu, etc.) and Unix (Solaris, HPUX, etc.)
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux and UNIX operating systems - Resource(s) need to be experienced with multiple Unix/Linux versions and solid troubleshooting capabilities.
  • High level of technical and industry experience in both Linux and Windows environments, supporting network infrastructures, and virtualization
  • Experience working with Linux/UNIX platforms in an Enterprise IT Operations environment
  • Deep technical understanding of Linux/UNIX administration, with experience in OS and Hardware configurations, server storage management (local disk / SAN) and volume management
