One of the Bay Area’s fastest growing colocation start-ups is looking for a Linux DevOps Engineer. This is a full-time, on-site role.
The responsibilities included with this role include working with a team of engineers to build, maintain, and correct issues within the platform. The responsibilities for this Linux DevOps Engineer role include, being well versed in Linux, Puppet, Ubuntu, and Hardware devices. If you have a focused Linux Administration/DevOps Engineer mindset then this is the role for you!
Required Technical Skills
3-5 years of experience working in systems administrator or devops roles:

Required Technical Skills
3-5 years of experience working in systems administrator or devops roles:
- Linux systems administration and troubleshooting
- Experience with KVM / Xen virtualization on Linux hosts
- Experience with systems deployments using Puppet
- Using version control systems such as phabricator, gitolite and SVN
- Open source monitoring, graphing and logging solutions like Nagios, Cacti, MRTG, and syslog
- Configuring BIND DNS, Apache, Linux clustering, Postfix and Sendmail
- Coding in: Python, Perl, or BASH
- Basic configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco networking equipment
- Troubleshooting tools (i.e tcpdump)
Nice to have
- Experience with iptables or other firewall solutions
- BGP, OSPF routing
- Simple management of database platforms like MySQL

- Rotating on-call duty for critical systems and customer support
- Excellent teamwork skills, flexibility, and the ability to handle multiple tasks
- Strong time management skills and an appreciation for being part of a fast-paced startup environment
- Ability to pick up new concepts in a rapidly growing and evolving business
Either of the following:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related disciplines
- Current Linux and/or Cisco certification
