This financial services company is searching for a Director of Observability to join their team. You should be someone who enjoys being hands on and experienced in Splunk, AWS services (ECS and Fargate), Linux, Terraform, Datadog/Dynatrace, and Ansible. Really looking for someone who understands observability as code.
You’ll be managing all technical aspects of the observability platforms, including talent sourcing, vendor relations, and platform success. They need a visionary leader who is deeply technical and passionate about making observability platforms and technology better. - 10+ years of technology experience with 5 years of driving transformation and changeability to influence and collaborate across teams.
- Deep experience in observability with enterprise tools such as Splunk, Datadog, Dynatrace, New Relic.
- Passionate about observability and understanding metrics, events, logs, and traces.
- Extensive experience in system deployment lifecycle.
- Expertise in technical product management, including agile delivery methodology, planning, estimating, staffing, and executing.
- Can manage both onshore and offshore resources (employees and contractors).
- Create and adjust roadmaps for observability tools.
- Build and support for the future while helping those currently using the platforms.
- Collaborate with vendors to identify and address pain points.
- Deploy observability tools in a cloud environment and support those using the cloud.
- Work with various stakeholders including SRE teams, development teams, and operations teams in an enterprise environment.
- Take ownership and responsibility for delivering observability platforms.
- Communicate regularly with senior leaders about the platform's status and needs.
- Advocate for automation and lead team members in adopting automated processes.
