arge banking company is hiring a Data Developer II for a permanent role on their Data Architecture team. Must be a local candidate to Houston, TX as this is a hybrid role, where commuting to the corporate office in The Woodlands will be required on an as-needed basis. SQL development must be the primary skill utilized in roles over the past 5+years.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Data Developer II, you will be responsible for developing, supporting, and enhancing database programs and reports using the SQL platform. This senior position typically handles projects of a more complex nature and serves as a resource to junior team members. Key Responsibilities include the following:
  • Serves as a senior resource to junior team members, assisting with questions, obstacles and issue resolution.
  • Collaborates with program managers, team members and developers on specific project business objectives to determine database structural requirements.
  • Partners with business owners to gather and determine business requirements; analyzes data to develop or update reports, stored procedures and databases solutions.
  • Monitors database performance and tunes to maximize efficiency.
  • Develops new and enhances existing database objects and packages to advance functionality and automation of systems.
  • Provides guidance and required data to application developers for new and existing applications.
  • Transfers source data through various tools into the database system and performs quality checks on data interfaces.
  • Participates in solution testing; prepares scripts and reports for moves to production following change control processes.
  • Creates and maintains related supporting documentation. • Troubleshoots production issues as needed.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

  • Flexibility to provide after hours and weekend support on occasion to support business needs.
  • Strong data analysis and mapping skills with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft database and reporting technologies and tools including Office, SharePoint, SQL Server Integration and Reporting Services and Management Studio, Visual Studio, and Team Foundation Server.
  • Proficient with database performance monitoring and tuning to maximize efficiency.
  • Knowledgeable in the development of new databases and enhancing existing database objects and packages to advance functionality and automation of systems.
REQUIRED SKILLS (minimum)
  • 5-7 years’ experience in a SQL Server development role required.
  • Experience in developing new and enhancing existing database objects and packages to advance functionality and automation of systems required.
  • 2+ years of experience monitoring database performance and tuning to maximize efficiency required.
  • SQL Server Integration and Reporting Services experience required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Azure DevOps, Power BI, Azure
  • Previous experience in a support role (like helpdesk).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field is preferred.
