Data Engineer with Genetic Analytics Experience

Invitae is seeking a highly skilled data engineer with genetic analytics experience to join our team of experts dedicated to transforming healthcare through genetics. As a Data Engineer with Genetic Analytics Experience, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and analytic workflows that power our genetic testing and interpretation platform.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes that enable the rapid delivery of genetic test results to healthcare providers and patients.
• Design and implement scalable data storage and processing solutions using cloud-based technologies such as AWS and Google Cloud Platform.
• Develop and maintain analytic workflows and pipelines that enable the analysis of large-scale genomic data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality, accuracy, and completeness.
• Create and maintain documentation and data flow diagrams for all ETL processes and data pipelines.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in data engineering, genetic analytics, and cloud computing.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, with expertise in building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Experience with genetic data analytics, including variant calling, annotation, and interpretation.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or other relevant languages.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data storage and processing technologies, such as AWS S3, EMR, Redshift, Google Cloud Storage, and BigQuery.
• Experience with data warehousing, data modeling, and SQL-based reporting tools.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with an ability to work independently and in a team environment.
