This university is looking to add multiple positions into their Security Organization as part of their Re-Imagine IT Wide Initiatives. They are seeking a Director of Identity and Access Management. In this position you will oversee an IAM overhaul, addressing significant technical debt and updating their outdated IAM System. The university aims to implement modern solutions for their applications, making experience in overhauling legacy systems and implementing modern solutions highly desirable. Required Skills & Experience
  • Over 7 years of expertise in fields such as IT, cybersecurity, computer science, management, or higher education.
  • Proficiency in directory services, Single Sign-On (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), role-based access control (RBAC), identity governance and administration (IGA), and privileged access management (PAM).
  • In-depth understanding of privacy and security regulations, federal and state laws, policies, and standards relevant to higher education or similar sectors.
  • Track record in developing and executing IAM strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Advanced project management skills with the ability to lead complex projects, delegate tasks, track progress, and manage teams effectively.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in IT, cybersecurity, computer science, public administration, business administration, or communications.
What You Will Be Doing
  • Develop and execute IAM strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Oversee IAM processes, including provisioning, authentication, and access control systems.
  • Lead and manage the IAM team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify, implement, and support cost-effective IAM solutions.
  • Utilize best practices for user experience and support to shape future IAM priorities.
  • Lead complex IAM projects, ensuring timely delivery and desired outcomes.
  • Communicate IAM vision, strategy, and decisions effectively to diverse audiences.
