As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure, with a specific focus on Fortinet and Palo Alto security solutions. You will ensure the security, reliability, and performance of our network while providing technical expertise and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Design and Implementation:

    • Design, deploy, and maintain network infrastructure including routing, switching, and firewall configurations.
    • Implement and manage Fortinet and Palo Alto Networks security solutions to protect against threats and ensure secure connectivity.
    • Configure and optimize network devices (e.g., firewalls, routers, switches) to ensure efficient traffic flow and network performance.
  • Security Management:

    • Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures using Fortinet and Palo Alto technologies.
    • Monitor and analyze network traffic and security logs to identify and respond to potential threats.
    • Implement and manage intrusion prevention systems (IPS), virtual private networks (VPNs), and other security measures.
  • Troubleshooting and Support:

    • Diagnose and resolve complex network issues related to connectivity, security, and performance.
    • Provide technical support to internal teams and end-users for network-related issues.
    • Conduct root cause analysis for network outages and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitoring and Optimization:

    • Monitor network performance and availability using network management tools and systems.
    • Perform regular network assessments and capacity planning to ensure scalability and efficiency.
    • Optimize network configurations and policies to improve performance and reduce latency.
  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures.
    • Prepare and present reports on network performance, security incidents, and project status.
  • Collaboration and Training:

    • Work closely with other IT teams to integrate network solutions with other systems and applications.
    • Provide training and guidance to junior network engineers and support staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience with Fortinet (e.g., FortiGate) and Palo Alto Networks (e.g., PA-Series) security solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and VPN technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with network equipment such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze and resolve complex network issues.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto Networks PCNSA/PCNSE, Cisco CCNA/CCNP) are highly desirable.
