Senior Network Engineer / Charlotte, NC

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our clients team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Azure networking, VLAN configuration, SD-WAN deployment, VPN technologies, and extensive experience with Cisco routers/switches and Fortinet firewalls. As a Senior Network Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining their network infrastructure to ensure maximum performance, availability, and security.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Azure networking solutions, including Virtual Networks, VPN Gateway, Azure ExpressRoute, and Azure Firewall.
• Configure and manage VLANs to optimize network traffic flow and segregation.
• Deploy and manage SD-WAN solutions to enhance network connectivity and performance.
• Configure and troubleshoot VPN technologies to securely connect remote sites and users.
• Design, implement, and manage Cisco routers/switches to support network operations.
• Configure and maintain Fortinet firewalls to enforce network security policies and protect against threats.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement network solutions that meet business requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
• Proactively identify and resolve network issues to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
• Stay updated on the latest networking technologies and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer, with a focus on Azure networking, VLAN configuration, SD-WAN deployment, VPN technologies, Cisco routers/switches, and Fortinet firewalls.
• Solid understanding of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, etc.
• Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Wireshark).
• Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, Fortinet NSE, or Azure certifications are highly desired.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Positive attitude with strong leadership qualities.
• Previous experience managing or leading a team is a plus.
