Windows and Networking Systems Engineer

A Consulting Firm is hiring a Systems Engineer to join the IT Team. Primarily a remote position on a day to day basis, the Systems Engineer will be required to go onsite at the Folsom, CA office as needed for repairs and maintenance.

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for supporting the entire existing infrastructure which means the team needs a Jack of All Trades who can work directly with stakeholders across different orgs within the company. The environment is primarily Windows Servers split 50/50 on-prem virtualized with VMware and Azure Cloud for M365. This position requires the Systems Engineer to have expert level skills with Windows Servers, VMware, M365, and communication skills. To be successful the Systems Engineer also needs experience with Networking, Firewalls like Sonicwall, Wireless technology such as Ruckus or Ubiquity, back-up tools such as Veeam, and Intune MDM. The team is currently modernizing the Network Switches which you will be supporting.


Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of Windows Systems Engineering experience.
• Expert with VMware including ESXi
• Expert with Microsoft 365 suite of tools
• Strong Communication skills
• Strong Powershell scripter
• Networking Fundamentals including Routers and Switches
• Intune MDM Experience
• Firewalls (Sonicwall, Meraki, Fortinet, etc)
• Wireless technology (Ubiquiti, Ruckus, etc.)

Desired Skills & Experience

• Azure experience
• Sonicwall Firewall experience
• SharePoint
