Using a diverse energy portfolio, including renewables, they offer tailored energy plans, smart home technologies, and home protection products. Through a variety of brands,, they empower customers with convenient tools to manage their accounts and prioritize sustainability and innovation in their energy solutions.
They are currently hiring an experienced .NET engineer, specializing in VB.NET to work cross-functionally and deliver solutions that enhance business operations and improve user experiences.
- 5+ years of experience in Software development
- 3+ years of experience in VB.NET, C#, MVC, Visual Studio, SQL Server, T-SQL, HTML5, JavaScript, SSRS, SSMS
- 3+ years of experience working with a source control management tool such as Team Foundation Server (TFS) or GitHub
- 3+ years of experience in SQL Server Jobs development
- 2+ years of experience in Oracle PL/SQL is a plus
- 2+ years of development work in a de-regulated utilities business in Texas or the Northeast is a plus
- Collaborate with IT application owners and the broader IT organization to deliver technical solutions that meet user requirements. Escalate or resolve conflicts when necessary.
- Analyze requirements for new enhancements, integrating them into existing applications or developing new applications as needed.
- Design, develop, unit test, system test, schedule, and create deployment scripts for small business applications.
- Regularly update stakeholders on project status, promptly escalating any issues or delays that could impact deadlines.
- Provide production support for applications, occasionally during after-hours, to ensure minimal disruption.
- Handle requests for ad-hoc reports and implement minor enhancements to improve functionality.
- Apply analytical skills to quickly troubleshoot and resolve application issues.
- Support SOX controls, testing, and audits to maintain compliance.
- Stay current with new technologies and best practices that could benefit the company.
- Demonstrate flexibility and commitment, especially during critical issue resolution and key milestone periods.
- Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients, operations teams, project managers, and colleagues.
