A forward-thinking federal consulting agency specializing in delivering innovative AI-driven solutions to the defense and intelligence communities is looking for a Data Scientist. Their mission is to enhance national security by leveraging cutting-edge technologies and data science to provide actionable insights and strategic advantages. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, with a proven track record of applying these skills in cleared spaces. As a Data Scientist, you will work closely with defense and intelligence clients to analyze complex data sets, develop predictive models, and support the deployment of AI solutions that address critical security challenges.
This role is hybrid in the DC region, with 2-3 days on-site and expected travel requirements throughout the year. 
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement machine learning models and algorithms to solve complex problems in the defense and intelligence sectors.
  • Analyze large and complex data sets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that inform strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of data used in analysis and modeling.
  • Present findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders through clear, concise reports and presentations.
  • Stay current with advancements in AI, machine learning, and data science, and apply these innovations to enhance our solutions.
  • Work within Agile project management frameworks to deliver high-quality results on time and within scope.
Qualifications
  • Active security clearance, Secret level or higher is required. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in data science, with a focus on machine learning and AI applications.
  • Strong proficiency in Python.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, etc.
  • Proficient in data manipulation and analysis using tools such as SQL, Pandas, and NumPy.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Matplotlib.
  • Familiarity with AWS and big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.
