EXTREME/ NETWORK MANAGER/ ONSITE REQUIREMENTS

A notable sports team is seeking a Network Manager to supervise the design, installation, and management of intricate network infrastructures. The ideal candidate will have practical knowledge with Extreme and Cisco networking technologies. The optimal applicant would possess a robust technical expertise combined with outstanding leadership and project management abilities to guarantee the timely and cost-effective completion of projects. This position is a TRAVEL-REMOTE HYBRID. YOU HAVE TO LIVE IN NEWARK, NEW JERSEY.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage enterprise-level network solutions utilizing Extreme and Cisco networking technologies.
• Lead a team of network engineers and technicians, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Conduct network assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
• Proactively monitor network performance and security, implementing appropriate measures to mitigate risks and ensure uptime.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in networking technologies, recommending innovative solutions to enhance network capabilities.
• Provide escalated support for complex network issues, troubleshooting and resolving issues in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing network infrastructures, with a focus on Extreme and Cisco technologies.
• Extensive knowledge of routing and switching protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP).
• Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices, including firewalls, VPNs, and access control lists.
• Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Cisco Prime).
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients.
• Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or Extreme Networks certifications are highly desirable.
• Experience working in a third-party agency or consulting environment is a plus.
