A global investment company headquartered in NYC is hiring an experienced Network Security Engineer to secure their cloud and on-premise environments, ensuring the protection of critical data and systems. If you have an extensive background in network security, next-gen firewalls, VLAN etc, this may be the role for you.

This position is hybrid onsite and candidates will work in the NYC office 3-4 days per week. 

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of combined work experience in networking/infrastructure/security
  • Solid understanding of modern infrastructure technologies (such as virtualization of computing and networking, containers, cloud computing, SaaS, PaaS etc) and the security aspects of these technologies.
  • Proficiency in core principles of networking (TCP/IP, routing/switching, VLANs, NAT, DNS, DHCP) and applied cryptography (symmetric/asymmetric encryption, hashing, SSL/TLS, SSH, PKI, IPSec).
  • Understanding of common security principles, concepts, and methods, including but not limited to network segregation, DMZ, Zero Trust, defense-in-depth, and penetration testing.
  • Experience with common attack vectors and defensive methods against modern enterprises (phishing, ransomware, malware, DoS/DDoS, SQL injection, cross-site scripting, etc.).
  • Experience with operation of NextGen/L7 firewalls, such as those offered by Palo Alto Networks or Fortinet.
  • Relevant security certifications such as Azure Security Engineer, CISSP, or CISM are a plus.
  • Ability to script and automate for operational efficiency.
