Job Description: As an ISSE, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the security infrastructure of our DoD systems. Your expertise in Networking, Windows, Virtualization, Linux, and cloud technologies will be crucial in securing our systems and protecting sensitive data. You will play a pivotal role in implementing NIST frameworks and maintaining our security posture. This position requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement security solutions for DoD systems based on NIST frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and risk assessments.
  • Monitor and analyze system logs and security events to identify potential threats.
  • Implement and manage security controls, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and data loss prevention systems.
  • Perform security incident response and participate in incident investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable security regulations and standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, technologies, and threats.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure security best practices are followed.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security or a similar role.
  • Strong background in networking, Windows, virtualization, Linux, and cloud technologies.
  • Familiarity with NIST frameworks, especially NIST Special Publication 800-53.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining security controls in a DoD environment is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices and common vulnerabilities.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
