Overview: Our engineering firm is currently seeking a Junior System Administrator to join our team. We are looking for a local candidate who is a jack of all trades, with experience in Windows administration, Office 365, network administration, and virtualization technologies. The ideal candidate will be forward-thinking, eager to learn, and committed to growing within our company.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in managing and maintaining Windows-based servers and systems, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security.
  • Support Office 365 applications and services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams.
  • Administer Active Directory, including user and group management, domain services, and security policies.
  • Configure and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and access points from Brocade R&S, Cisco Meraki, and other vendors.
  • Manage on-premises and Azure-based resources, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and identity management.
  • Assist with virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) or VMware environments, including deployment, configuration, and support.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure uptime and reliability.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to support business initiatives and projects.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to system administration.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a systems administration role, preferably in a Windows environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Active Directory, and Office 365 administration.
  • Experience with network administration, including switches, routers, and access points from Brocade R&S, Cisco Meraki, or similar vendors.
  • Familiarity with on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure, including Azure.
  • Exposure to virtualization technologies such as VDI or VMware is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
