As a Junior Linux Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting and maintaining our Linux-based systems infrastructure. You will work closely with senior engineers to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our Linux servers and associated technologies. Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux servers and related hardware and software.
  2. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation and uptime.
  3. Implement security measures to safeguard Linux systems and data against unauthorized access and threats.
  4. Collaborate with other teams to deploy new applications and services on Linux platforms.
  5. Provide technical support and assistance to end-users and internal stakeholders.
  6. Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing and reference.
  7. Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies related to Linux administration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong understanding of Linux operating systems (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat).
  • Familiarity with shell scripting (Bash, Python, etc.) for automation and task scripting.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and clients.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM).
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Understanding of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., LPIC, RHCSA) would be a plus.
