Virtualization Engineer

A prominent banking and financial institution with multiple locations throughout the Greater Philadelphia suburbs is seeking a full-time Systems Administrator 2. In this role, you’ll be heavily involved in managing Windows servers, Veeam backups, and VMware ESXi. Additionally, you'll be responsible for handling Azure Active Directory, SCCM for patch management and vulnerability assessments, Horizon VDI setups, O365 administration, and vCenter/vSphere.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in IT, preferably with server and application support in the banking or financial sector.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all organizational levels.
• Excellent analytical skills and a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work under deadlines with a high degree of accountability.
• Advanced certifications in Microsoft and VMware are highly desirable.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in creating and maintaining IT standards, policies, and procedures.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
• Familiarity with basic SQL Server administration tasks, including backups, recovery, and performance optimization.
• Hands-on experience with VMware ESXi and VMware Horizon (VDI).
• Windows 10, Windows Server 2012, 2016, and 2019 expertise.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Exchange 365, and SCCM.
• Veeam Backup and Recovery experience is a plus.
• Project scoping and management experience is advantageous.

Role Breakdown:

• 100% Windows environment.
• Daily tasks: 60% administration and support, 40% builds, migrations, and implementations.
