Grow your career as a Lead Data Architect with an innovative global bank in Tampa, Florida. Contract role with strong possibility of extension. Will require working a hybrid schedule 2-3 days onsite per week.
Join one of the world's most renowned global banks and trusted brand with over 200 years of continuously evolving financial services worldwide. Will serve as a trusted counsel for the Head of HR Data Engineering, CDO (Chief Data Officer) and Engineering Managers. Will be trusted to look at our Data Transformation roadmap and provide feedback & suggestions. You will work alongside some of the smartest minds in the industry who are excited to share their knowledge and to learn from you.
Contract Duration: 12+ Months
- 15-20+ years of experience in the field of Data warehousing & Data Engineering with large scale implementation success stories.
- Deep and varied experience in the field of Enterprise Data Engineering & solutioning including Cloud hosted solutions, Data Warehousing, Data Lake and Lakehouse models.
- Core Technical Skills including but not limited to :
- Data warehousing (Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)
- Data lakes (Hadoop, Spark, Presto)
- Lake houses (Databricks, Delta Lake)
- Data virtualization (Starburst, Denodo) & Data Security Frameworks
- Data engineering tools (Airflow, Beam, Spark)
- Programming languages (Python, Java, Scala) &
- API Management (Data Distribution) – API Versioning, API Management, provide API subscriptions / feeds (JSON, XML, CSV) with scalability & performance.
-AI/ML awareness and its applicability in Data Warehousing (data collection, storage, processing, and distribution) What You Will Be Doing
- Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy aligned with business objectives
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify data requirements and opportunities
- Design and implement cloud-based data warehousing, data lakes, and lake houses
- Ensure data architecture is scalable, secure, and high-performing
- Lead the evaluation and selection of modern data engineering tools and technologies
- Oversee the development and maintenance of data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data integrations
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with industry standards
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to support data-driven decision-making
- Lead the implementation and optimization of data virtualization solutions like Starburst
- Ensure seamless data access and integration across disparate data sources
- Develop and enforce data governance policies, procedures, and standards
- Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Mentor and guide junior data engineers and architects
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning
- Ability to make executive level presentations (fluent with quick decks, architecture sketches to sell ideas and drive adoption & consensus)
