Responsibilities
  • Design and implement electronic circuits and circuit boards.
  • Develop firmware and/or FPGA models for electronic boards.
  • Establish and execute procedures for electronics certification.
  • Oversee both electronic and mechanical aspects of system assembly.
  • Manage design cycles with third-party suppliers effectively.
  • Plan and adhere to timelines and goals for multiple projects.
  • Lead mentoring, knowledge sharing, and team empowerment.
  • Maintain self-motivation and high performance standards while driving for results.
Qualifications
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics; postgraduate degrees are advantageous.
  • Over 2 years of professional experience in a hardware leadership role.
  • More than 4 years of professional experience in building production-scale electronics.
  • Strong background in RF, transmission lines, and general EM theory.
  • Expertise in analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit and PCB design.
  • Proficiency in signal processing, ideally including digital signal processing.
  • Extensive experience with EM simulations for PCB design and EMI/EMC assessment.
  • Familiarity with the EMC compliance and certification process.
  • Experience with analog and digital measurement equipment (spectrum analyzers, VNA, logic analyzers).
  • Experience with KiCad for design and simulation is a plus.
  • Skills in digital hardware design, for both FPGA and microcontrollers, are a plus.
  • Software skills in C/C++ embedded programming, Python, and shell scripting are a plus.

This role is hybrid with flexibility on days in office in Waterloo, ON. Only those eligible to work in Canada on a full-time permanent basis will be considered.
